Crystal Mosque is built with steel, glass and crystal, hence the name. The view during the day is beautiful with the sun shining over its glass faceted exterior, giving the sparkling effect. Istana Maziah (Maziah Palace) is symbol of honour of the institution of Terengganu’s sultanate. This magnificent palace is located at the foot of Bukit Puteri in the heart of KT town.
The Batu Bersurat, Terengganu or Inscribed Stone of Terengganu constitutes the earliest evidence of Jawi writing in the Malaya Muslim world of Southeast Asia. The Stone is a testimony to the spread of Islam offering an insight to the life of the people of the era as well as depicting the growing Islamic culture subsumed under a set of religious laws.
The town is small but charming with colorful shop houses along both sides of the road that carries traditional flavor. Small grocery shops, a morning market, butcher shops, hardware shops, kopitiams (coffee shops), cafes, restaurants and so on can be found. The kopitiams, cafes and restaurants offer local delicacies from mostly Chinese, but also Malay and Indian food.
Fort Duyong is located near the Marina Jetty and is a reconstructed old Malay palace that was built from timber. The original building was constructed in 1919 by a magistrate known as Dato’ Biji Sura. Pulau Duyung is an island which is located at the Terengganu River and is accessible by road or by boat, it is well known for traditional boat building.
La Hot Spring is located in the interior of Hulu Besut about 28km from the city jertih Terengganu. The tourist center is known as to call La Hot Spring was opened to the public in 1992 in conjunction with the Expo Construction and exhibition culture Besut district.
Brassware & Batik Handicraft Wanisma Craft and Trading in Marang Terengganu was started by Was Ismail, a brassware businessman in about 50 years ago. Brassware & Handicraft Factory products / Services offered Brassware -betel nut chest (tepak sirih), cooking wares, teko, keris, batik crafts (batik sarong) and handicrafts made from screw pine leaves (mengkuang).
Cruise under the exotic shady canopy of the world’s oldest rainforest 130 million years and share the secrets of the wilderness. The trees canopy covered up with magnificent flora and wild orchids such as famous Tiger Orchids. Along the river, you will greet with primates like Silvered Leaf Monkeys, Pigtail Macaques, Long tail Macaques and etc.
While the waterfall is the main attraction here, the park authorities have also built some man-made attractions to add ‘value’ to the park. This is quite a pleasant park to visit. Fortunately, it is well maintained and kept. There are ample signs to help visitors identify the park’s attractions. There is also a mini museum in the park with some rather interesting exhibits.
