Langkawi is synonymous with ‘tropical paradise’.Langkawi is actually a cluster of 104 islands, since they are nearly all uninhabited, the main island called simply Pulau Langkawi. Langkawi, officially known as Langkawi the Jewel of Kedah no doubt inspired by the island’s clear waters, relatively pristine beaches and intact jungle. Langkawi is an archipelago of islands in the Andaman Sea, some 30 km off the mainland coast of northwestern Malaysia. The islands are a part of the state of Kedah, which is adjacent to the Thai border.





HIGHLIGHTS




Langkawi cable car

Langkawi one of the world’s longest and steepest cable car rides. The cable car whisks visitors up to the top of Mat Chincang (708m) from where breathtaking views over the whole island and the surrounding Andaman Sea can be enjoyed. The cable car stops at three stations Base, Middle, and Top Stations with each of a different view of the island.

Temurun Waterfall

The Temurun waterfall offers the ‘hot’ refreshing waters from the mountains. The waters cascade down a 30m drop which forms a nice pool below which you can swim in. This is indeed a spectacular waterfall to visit, but only when it isn’t the dry season as the waterfall will flow to a trickle during this period.

Durian Perangin Waterfall

Durian Waterfall has some amazing dotted unique rock formations and immersed in the crystal-clear water. See the rich variety of vegetation that grows abundantly around the falls. Just a short distance away is some hot springs in Kampung Ayer Hangat.





Seven wells Waterfall

The name Seven Wells Waterfalls refers to a series of seven connected natural pools fed by seven separate waterfalls in Mount Mat Cincang. Enthusiasts can brave the steep climb to the top of the waterfalls, a journey that will take you approximately 45 minutes, along the way you are likely to spot macaques and hornbills.

Caves (Gua Kelawar, Gua Cerita)

Langkawi’s spectacularly shaped rock formations conceal a number of caves including Gua Kelawar, a bat-infested Bats and see stalactites and stalagmites and other-worldly creatures. cave reachable by boat ride through dense mangrove forest, and Gua Cerita (Cave of Legends), a small mystical cave overlooking a beach and accessible only by boat.

Observe the wonders of the park’s marine ecosystem, its flora ,fauna and natural inhabitants such as the over-hanging ‘Bogak Trees’, Brown Eagles, Tree Crabs, Monitor Lizards and Macaques.
