Mount Sorak

Located in Seoraksan National Park near the city of Sokcho, visitors that come during autumn will get to see the colorful foliage set against a gorgeous backdrop of the mountain. The name Sorak means ‘a high mountain covered in snow’ as it starts to snow during Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving holiday) and melts in summer. It is the third highest mountain at 1,708 meters above sea level.

Jeju Island

This island is defined by its volcanic landscape full of craters and cave-like lava tubes. Here visitors will find Hallasan Mountain, a dormant volcano with hiking trails and a crater lake at the summit. Be sure to visit Seongsan Ilchulbong, also known as Sunrise Peak, which is a popular destination to catch the sun rise. Other places of interest include Hallim Park, Yeomiji Botanic Garden, Seongeup Folklore Village and Jeju Folk Village Museum.

Nami Island

Famous for its beautiful tree lined roads, theme parks and camping sites, this small crescent shaped island is a must-visit to get away from the bustling city of Seoul. It is a popular destination for the Korean drama, Winter Sonata which was filmed here in 2002. A unique feature of this island is that there are no telephone poles. The electric wires are built underground to maintain the natural landscape.



 

Teddy Bear Museum

Get in touch with your inner child and find out everything you want to know about teddy bears. The Teddy Bear was named after America’s 26th President, Theodore Roosevelt, whose nickname was Teddy. Explore each exhibit in the museum as they each have their own theme and story.

Kwonkeumsung Fortress

This 2,000 kilometer long fortress is perched on a steep mountain at an elevation of 800 meters high. It is believed to have been named after two generals, Kwon and Gum, who built it to prepare for a war during the Shilla period. Visitors will get a breathtaking view of the East Sea and outer Sorak from the top.
